Chevron Chapeau

I am so very happy to tell you about my new pattern.  Before the holidays I was looking for a chevron striped hat pattern that did not require stranded knitting or charts.  After a quick Ravelry search I came up empty handed.  So, I designed the Chevron Chapeau.

The pattern calls for worsted (or even aran) weight yarn.  It comes in 5 sizes--baby, toddler, child, adult, and large adult.  The stripes are a great way to use odds and ends that you may have left over from other projects.  Also, if you double fingering weight yarn it is the same thing as using worsted weight.  You could knit a size bigger to make it a slouchy hat.  You could use self-striping yarn for your chevron stripes.  You could skip the ribbing and let the brim roll.  The possibilities are endless!

Right now I'm thinking about knitting one with an ombre chevron stripe pattern.

You can purchase it on Ravelry for $4, but I have a special coupon code (thankyou) that will give you a dollar off though Saturday April 13, 2013.

I am so very appreciative of the knitting community.  I have made so many wonderful friends and shared amazing experiences with so many knitters.  That's why I decided thank you is the perfect coupon code.  Thank you.

And, a special thank you to my test knitters--Jill, Leanne, Denise, Tara, and Rae Lynne.
